My part of an art-trade between me and the lovely . This is her character Johan, who is a king poodle. Usually he is a leader of a street pack, but I chose to draw him in some pretty, calm and peaceful surroundings

I had a great time drawing this. I didn't try to push myself or anything, just experiment a bit. It felt good. I thought it would be pretty quick, but then I figured out that I wanted this more... artistic kind of fur^^ So I drew it, curl by curl, and it takes long time. But I love the process, actually. Good therapy, you don't need to think and focuse so much. So I just listened to my favourite Audiobook while drawing it, it's pretty long. It was pretty wonderful^^ But good to be done with too.

I've never really drawn a proper poodle before, or well, not since I was a little kid, so of course I used some refs. Especially this wonderful photo of a beautiful poodle: [link] by was a great help and inspiration. It was a beautiful dog and great shot, and the fur was more natural, as Johan's is supposed to be.

I had a little fun with the anatomy as you probably can see, it's not all realistic, and yeah... The light could use some more work. But except from that, I'm pretty happy with it. Hope you like it too, Hail!
